diet to gain muscle naturally
hey, guys, dr. axe here, talking about highenergy foods and foods that are going to naturally boost energy and just leave you feeling greatall day. i hear from so many patients and people asking me, "hey, what do i gotta doto boost my energy?" well, in this video, i'm going to talk aboutthe five foods you absolutely need to have in your diet to naturally boost your energy, and then share at the very end my favorite supplements for also naturally boosting energylevels. this will also help improve if you strugglewith adrenal fatigue or thyroid issues. these are going to help you with that as well. the number one food you've got to start consumingto improve your energy level is coconut oil.
coconut contains medium chain fatty acids, which have been shown to help your body burn fat for energy. other fats, like olive oiland, let's say, things like canola oil, those are longer chain fats. your body has to gothrough a 26-step process to use those for energy. your body only has to go through a three-stepprocess to start burning the fats in coconut oil for energy. so a tablespoon of coconutoil in a superfood smoothie or some coconut milk or cook with coconut oil. that's goingto increase your energy. the second food that can boost your energyis chia seeds. in fact, historically chia seeds have been known as runners' food. theyare your highest plant-based source of protein.
they're loaded with omega-3 fatty acids, andyour body can burn those for energy. so again, chia seed, also known as warriors'food or runners' food, and here's a little tip. if you want to get those benefits andamplify them, mix some chia seeds along with coconut oil and just consume those as a snackwith a little bit of raw honey. a great energy-boosting food. in fact, there's a lot of triathletes todaythat are mixing coconut oil, chia seeds, and raw honey together and actually using thatas their fuel during workouts. the third food group that you got to get inyour diet if you want to boost your energy is more green, leafy vegetables and greensuper foods. green, leafy vegetables like
spinach, kale, and collard greens are loadedwith chlorophyll. chlorophyll is like the life blood of a plant.it's very alkaline to your body. it helps reduce acidity. it's been shown to naturallyimprove energy levels. also, those green, leafy vegetables are packed with magnesium. magnesium is a key electrolyte, supportingcellular function, as well as supporting muscle growth and function. so you want to raiseyour energy. packing on more energy with spinach, kale, and collard greens is a great strategyas well. the fourth food you got to get in your dietif you want to boost your energy level is fruit. now, i want to mention this with fruit.you've got to consume fruit in moderation.
consuming too much fruit will actually zapand decrease your energy levels. but if you get the proper amount, which isabout one to two servings a day, it can actually increase your energy. reason being, fruitis full of good carbohydrates that are simple for your body to digest, in fact, much moresimple than grains. your body has to do no work to digest fructose.it goes right from your gut into your bloodstream, and it's used for energy. but again, if there'stoo much, it's system overload. it's going to decrease your energy. also, fruits are loaded with potassium. potassiumis an electrolyte mineral that helps hydrate your entire body and also supports cleansingat a cellular level. bananas are packed with
potassium. mangos, papaya, a lot of your tropicalfruits, blueberries. adding in some good quality fruit, one to two servings a day, can definitelysupport healthy energy levels. the last thing here is adding some good qualitysupplements into your energy diet regimen. some of my favorites include a green superfoodpowder. green superfood contains super nutrients like chlorella, spirulina, wheat grass juice.those are fantastic. the other group of supplements that i'd recommendfor boosting your energy are adaptogenic herbs. adaptogens mean they help your body betterdeal with stress, but these have been shown to help you overcome thyroid issues, adrenalfatigue, and other things that can be related to low energy.
diet to gain muscle naturally,
so my favorite adaptogen herbs are ashwagandha, rhodiola, ginseng, and holy basil. these adaptogenic herbs can absolutely boost your energy andleave you feeling great. so add those five super foods and supplementsinto your diet, and i think you're going to see your energy is going to soar.
