diet crab salad
i am so conflicted over dinner these days.can i eat imitation crab while pregnant? imitation crab is better for your than realcrab when you’re pregnant. what do they make it out of? imitation crab meat is made from pollock,a fish. they add crab flavoring and shape it to look like crab sticks.
diet crab salad, that’s the same thing they do to make fishsticks. well, fish sticks sometimes have haddock or cod in them, instead of pollock. if you want to eat real crab, that is safein moderation as long as it is totally, completely cooked.
what do you consider totally, completely cooked?just short of charcoal? cook the fish to at least 145 f. and don’teat anything raw, especially shell fish. can i eat a california roll? they say that’ssafe. you can eat the california roll, which hasimitation crab in it. if in doubt, i shouldn’t eat anything withcrab in it, as crabby as that makes me. if you’re worried about the crab meat, shrimpis safe. or go for the salmon or a hake dish. my doctor said i shouldn’t eat more thantwelve ounces of low mercury fish in a week. that’s two fish dinners. or one visit to the buffet line when you cravecrab.
anything else i should know. you shouldn’t eat shark, tile fish, swordfish or predator fish. stay away from fresh caught fish. i’ve never heard of fresh caught imitationcrab legs. someone, somewhere, is going to slap the allnatural, totally organic, eco-friendly, fresh caught label on it, hoping to sell it at apremium. that makes me ill. at least you’re not one of those women whohas to run for the bathroom when she sees seafood or meat. some women even get sickat the word calamari.
